Day 1, Flight 1, Heathrow

Thursday 15th, 7:20pm. I've decided that a 20kg bag weighs a bit more when it has 20kgs of not correctly packed luggage in it. Its too heavy. Think I will have to rethink my packing.

Managed to survive the traumas of departure. I'm always sad to go on holiday, for as long as it takes to depart. And this time as its a long time it was a longer departure so a little sadder. To me, I guess, its too much thinking about the things and people you leave behind. But the same as ever, as soon as I'm away it becomes a bit of an adventure. And this feels like one.

Heathrow airport feels like you have arrived at the worlds departure gate - there are more cultures, accents and people walking around here than you can imagine. People watching.... fill your boots.

2 hours to departure, think I will have something to eat. Do they feed you if you are flying overnight and going forward in time? Thai Noodles and Thai Curry perhaps?...

More later. Enjoy yourselves!!
